Sister Barbara Gene Tate Harness was born January 26, 1954, in Pike County, MS to the late Prentiss and Lizzie Tate. She entered into eternal rest on May 5, 2012.
Sister Harness graduated from South Pike High School in Magnolia, MS. She attended Coahoma Community College
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mamie Magee and Jessie Johnson; three brothers, James, Wallace and Charlie Tate.
She was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Osyka, MS.
She leaves to cherish her memories a spouse of thirty-eight years, Clifton Harness, Sr.; three sons, Clifton, Jr. (Wilma) Harness of Crestview, FL, Creevy (Tameka) Harness and Kelvin (LeKelisa) Harness of Pascagoula, MS; six grandchildren, Jocelyn, Kingston, Aunye, Imani, Kelvin, Jr. and Creevy, Jr.; one brother, Prentiss Tate, Jr., five sisters, Emma Blade, Effie King, Alma Smith, Carolyn (Ricky) Gordon and Carrie (Jewel) Christian. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and devoted friends.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Saturday, May 12, 2012 at New Bethel Apostolic Assembly, 4207 Griffin Street, Moss Point, MS. Viewing will begin one hour prior to the service. Elder Thomas Franklin will officiate.
Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery, Pascagoula, MS
