James L. Smith

James L. Smith was born November 22, 1950 to James Ree Funchess and Elouise Smith Holloway in Prentiss, MS.

He attended Carver High School in Pascagoula, MS. James "Cowboy" Smith departed this life on Thursday, May 2, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James (Lucille) Funchess and Elouise Smith; sister, Loree "Rene" Barnes; brothers, Robert "Pete" Poole, Eddie Butler, Willie Coleman, James Charles Smith; nephew, Robert Earl Fountain.

Survivors include three daughters, Alana Floyd of California, Kira Titus and Angela Harris both of Pascagoula, MS; one brother, Marcus (Diane) Poole of Pascagoula, MS; seven sisters, Irita Mushatt of Gautier, Patricia (Ernie) Mushatt, Shirley James both of Pascagoula, MS, Delois (Raymond) Simmons, Doris Poole both of Moss Point, MS, Caroline Smith of Prentiss, MS and Carolyn Smith of Biloxi, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Christian Love Church of Living God, 4412 Chillis Street, Moss Point, MS.
