Simon Lephornia Patterson (Sonny), the son of the late John Wesley and Myrtis Lucille (Witherspoon) Patterson, born to this union on July 25, 1963 in Pascagoula, MS. He accepted Christ at early age at Antioch Baptist Church in Pascagoula, MS. Sonny graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1981 before attending Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gautier, MS. He was a commercial truck driver with Dolphins Trucking Company until his injury. Sonny was affiliated with Price Hall Mason and a long time resident of State Line, Mississippi.
Sonny went into his eternal rest on June 16, 2012 to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Spiritually greeting his homecoming are his parents, John and Myrtis Patterson; his siblings; Jerry W. Witherspoon, Melvin C. Witherspoon and Deborah J. Patterson.
Sonny leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Lisa Rogers Patterson, three daughters: Jamie Patterson, Phoenix, AZ; Emonii and Ludaisha Patterson, State Line, MS; three step-sons: Petro Rogers, Hattiesburg, Tristan Rogers, Buckatanna, MS, and Jonathan Rogers, Laurel, MS; one godson: Dalvis Gildersleeve, Phoenix, AZ; three brothers: his devoted brother Ricky (Annette) Patterson, Phoenix City, AL; Ricci D.(Tiffany) Patterson, San Diego, CA; John W. (Eleanor) Patterson Jr., Moss Point, MS: eight sisters: Jacqueline (Oscar) Young, Atlanta, GA; Bonnie (Terrence) Witherspoon-Williamson, Fayetteville,GA; JoAnn Patterson, Fresno, TX; Eleanor Patterson and Patricia Patterson-Long, both of Pascagoula, MS; Corrine (Elijah) Blake, Espanola (James) Wagoner; both of Richmond, VA. Melanie Walden, Pascagoula, MS; father and mother-in-law, Jessie Lee and Jeanette Rogers; two step-grandsons, Zachariah and Josiah Rogers. Sister and Brother-in-laws: Ginger Williams, Jacqueline Leveretti; Kathy Walker, Sophia Simpson, Daisy Jackson, Morris Rogers, Terry Roberts, Larry Roberts, Raymond Roberts, Roger L. Rogers Garrison Rogers; three dear cousins: Alfred (Bug) Williams, Lionel Weatherspoon, Eric Witherspoon; three aunts: Catherine Anderson, Johnnie Witherspoon, Annie Weatherspoon, one uncle: George Weatherspoon; and numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, June 23, 2012 at First Missionary Baptist Church, 4600 Main Street, Moss Point, MS. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor James O. Harris, Sr. will officiate
Interment will be in Scranton Cemetery, Pascagoula, MS
